Clinical Coaching
If you struggle or need assistance with any of the following, we can help:
- Struggle to manage anxiety, fear, anger, and other emotions that negatively impact your performance
- Struggle to maintain a positive mindset and high level of confidence
- Struggle to find motivation to advance to the next level (both in sports and school)
- Feel as if you cannot manage the pressure of performing in front of others or preparing for tryouts
Parents looking to find better ways to support their child’s athletic development and performance can also seek help from one of our counselors.
Associate Professional Clinical Counselors often practice, but are not limited to, the diagnosis and treatment of mental and emotional disorders, including addictive disorders. It is considered a branch of clinical psychology, and APCCs use psychoeducational techniques, cognitive-behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and various other types of effective therapeutic modalities to better serve their clients.
APCCs work with families, individuals, children, and young adolescents with a number of mental and emotional issues, ranging from depression to substance abuse. They can also help clients minimize stress via stress-reduction techniques, as well as develop more effective decision-making skills. As
healthy coping strategies and techniques are developed and past issues, trauma, and obstacles are addressed, clients achieve better emotional balance and greater mental health.
At College Assurity, our counselors work with students who may struggle with test fears, lack of motivation/lack of structure, struggle with past trauma, and young adults who are facing depression and/or anxiety. Our highly trained counselors show students how to overcome any and all of their issues
by building their confidence and creating coping strategies.
We work with students who have behavioral problems such as ADD and ADHD, because these issues often cause school-related disruptions. Children and young adults who suffer from ADD and ADHD cannot focus on schoolwork, turn in assignments late or not at all, cannot follow instructions, and
struggle to interact with their peers. At College Assurity, it is our goal to help every child succeed not only in school, but in life. Our counselors engage students mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually, and in the event of unanticipated stress, our counselors can arm your child with personalized
coping mechanisms.
Sports counseling has become an integral part of life for high school athletes, as they face increased demands with their sport(s) and school work. Our counselors use a holistic approach to evaluate your student athlete’s mental wellbeing and emotional (personal and clinical) needs. Student athletes can work with our counselors to develop coping skills, enhance decision-making skills, learn crisis intervention, create performance imagery, focus on relaxation techniques, and much more. We want to improve our student athletes’ lives both on and off the field.
Just as strength and conditioning helps enhance an athlete’s power, speed, and agility, our counselors at College Assurity help athletes develop their minds. Athletes of all ages, skill levels, and sports can benefit from mental skill performance training.
